I bet you guys thought this was about the real "Dixie Chicks" sorry... but its about my 2 buddies and me. Well as you know I'm from West Va. But what you don't know is that my 2 buddies are from other southern states. One is from Mississippi and the other one is from Georgia. I met them about 7 years ago when I first started working at the
Columbus Dispatch. And we just hit it right off. You guys know how southern people are. We really don't know any strangers. So some of the guys that we worked with started calling us "Dixie Chicks". Jane (Georgia), when I first met her she reminded me of my Aunt Nola. Then Rhonda started working at the
Dispatch she moved down to the printing plant from
This Week newspapers, and her and I started working on the classifieds for
This Week papers. And then the next thing you knew we was all together hitting it off. I made some good friends working at the
Dispatch. We no longer work together cause our jobs got out source to India. Of all places, and now we work at different places but we stay in touch. I work for an Ad Agency and Jane is retired (lucky lady) and Rhonda is in school in the medial field. She is almost done with it. December baby! And she just got engage. Man our lives have really change since the
Dispatch days, but thats ok. Cause of the
Dispatch I met some really great people.
I was also lucky enough to have met Merry. Now this is Merry with an "E" not an "A". We worked together here at the Agency also. When we first meet and she told me her name was Merry Yee with a "E". Well I didn't catch all of that. So when I saw her I would always so Hey. So after my training at the Dispatch I was put on 2nd shift and I got to set beside Merry at night. There was 4 of us in the cube. So one night we was working and someone finally said her name in front of me and I looked at her and said Oh...Your name is Mary. She looked at me and said yes with a "E", then she said I knew you didn't know my name. I told her that you said your name so fast that all I got was "E", and I knew that wasn't her name. We still laugh about it to this day. And do you guys know what...? We still set beside each other.
Well guys... thats all I got to say for now. Hope you enjoy. There will be more stories coming from my days at the Dispatch.
And yes Chris... I got some stories for you about JR coming.
